WAUNAKEE, Wis. -

Officials identified the 56-year-old woman who was killed in a Waunakee apartment fire Wednesday night and said they can't rule on the cause of the fire.

The Dane County Medical Examiner said Friday morning that Raeanne J. Tucker died as a result of injuries she sustained in the blaze that started in the second-floor unit's kitchen.

The medical examiner said Tucker's death was accidental.

Dane County Sheriff's Department Spokeswoman Elise Schaffer said Friday morning that the cause of the O'Malley Street fire "cannot be determined." Schaffer said investigators spent the day at the scene Thursday, but that they couldn't conclude why it happened.

Crews had responded to the 16-unit building at 410 O’Malley St. for a lifeline alert at 8:06 p.m. and found the building engulfed in flames, according to the sheriff’s department.

A 65-year-old woman was also injured in the fire and residents were displaced. The apartment where the fire started was a total loss and total damage to the builiding was estimated at about $100,000, officials said.

All residents were evacuated to the Waunakee fire station, about five blocks from the fire scene.
