MADISON, Wis. -

A 24-year-old woman was injured trying to keep a man out of her apartment building in downtown Madison Sunday morning, police said.

The woman said she went to the apartment building’s common area at 3 a.m. because someone was repeatedly pushing door buzzers. She told police she opened the heavy door to the common area and saw a stranger.

The man slammed the steel door on the woman’s arm as she attempted to pull it shut, police said.

The woman went to her apartment and called police. Officers said they found the man inside the apartment in the 200 block of Lakelawn Place.

Josiah Toe Cheapoo Jr., 19, of Madison, struggled with officers and broke one of their radios, according to the police report. He also urinated in his pants. He was arrested on suspicion of battery, disorderly conduct, resisting, damage to property and depositing human waste products.
