MADISON, Wis. -

Police said a Madison man and woman were battered in an armed home invasion on Madison’s east side Wednesday night.

The Madison Police Department said four men knocked on the door of a Camden Road home at 8:36 p.m. Two of the men had handguns.

The men asked the 22-year-old woman where the safe was kept, according to the report. The woman and her guest, a 22-year-old man, were battered during the robbery. Police said they were not seriously hurt.

The robbers made off with cellphones and other electronics, police said.

The report said one of the robbers was white, in his 20s, 5 feet 9 inches tall with a slender build and blue eyes. He was wearing a a stocking cap and a hooded sweatshirt, police said.

A second robber was described as black, 5 feet 7 inches tall in his 20s, with a heavy build. He was wearing a stocking cap, the report noted.

Police did not have descriptions for the other two robbers.
