MADISON, Wis. -

A Deforest woman has been convicted 27 times for operating while suspended since 2009, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy said Leanna L. Norton, 23, was pulled over on the Beltline Highway near Highway 51 on Tuesday because of an expired registration and because the driver was not wearing a seat belt.

Norton was cited on suspicion of operating while suspended. If convicted, it will be her 28th conviction. She was also cited on suspicion of not wearing a seat belt and not having insurance.
