Wisconsin woman accused of stealing from 95-year-old
Received $200,000 from elderly woman
A Wausau woman is accused of taking thousands of dollars from a 95-year-old woman.
46-year-old Laurie Goetsch appeared in Marathon County court Friday. She's charged with two felony counts of theft.
Court documents say from January to July of this year Goetsch received $200,000 from the account of the elderly woman.
Goetsch was the woman's power of attorney, but prosecutors contend those funds were not used in the alleged victim's best interest. Instead, investigators say Goetsch financially exploited the woman.
Court documents say the alleged victim is worth $1 million.
WSAW-TV reports Goetsch is in jail on a $400,000 cash bond.
