An Eau Claire man will be committed to a mental institution after admitted he killed his neighbor last year.

James E. Olson pleaded guilty Wednesday to a felony count of first-degree intentional homicide.

Judge William Gabler agreed with the prosecutor and Olson's attorney and issued a lifelong commitment for Olson after finding him not guilty by mental disease or defect.

Two psychologists who examined Olson believe he suffered from mental illnesses at the time of the killing.
