TOWN OF LOWELL, Wis. -

A Waterloo man was killed when his truck crashed while negotiating a curve, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to County Road I south of County Road SS in the town of Lowell Saturday morning at 5:32 a.m. for a report of a crash.

Investigators said a truck driven by Derek L. Schultz, 23, was traveling north on County Road I and failed to negotiate a curve south of County SS. The truck entered the ditch, struck the embankment and overturned multiple times.

Schultz was ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

Lowell first responders, Beaver Dam EMS, the Lowell Fire Department, the Dodge County Medical Examiner and Dodge County Sheriff’s Department Chaplain assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
