Warming centers set up for cold snap

A number of warming centers are being set up to help those who need shelter from extremely cold temperatures. Check back for more listings as they are announced.


The following warming centers in Adams County are available, during normal business hours, to the public Monday, Jan. 6 and Tuesday, Jan. 7.

  • Adams County Library (569 N. Cedar Street, Adams)
  • Adams County Community Center (569 N. Cedar Street, Adams)
  • Friendship Connections (252 South Main Street, Adams-entrance is in the back of the building)
  • Rome Town Hall (1156 Alpine Drive, corner of Hwy. 13 & D)

Normal business hours are as follows:

  • Library – 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. (Monday-Tuesday)
  • Adams County Community Center – 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Monday-Tuesday)
  • Friendship Connections – 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Monday-Tuesday)
  • Rome Town Hall – 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Monday-Tuesday)


Warming centers in Sauk County are available to the public during daytime hours Monday, Jan. 6, through Wednesday, Jan. 8.

  • Baraboo Historic Courthouse, 510 Broadway St., first floor, room C-128, open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Lake Delton Fire/EMS Station, 45 Miller Dr., open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Reedsburg Police Dept., 200 Park St., open 24 hours a day, available Sunday through Wednesday
  • Reedsburg City Hall, 134 S. Locust St., open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Reedsburg Public Library, 370 Vine St., open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
