University of Wisconsin-Madison police report two students were hospitalized for extreme drinking and 19 underage alcohol citations were issued this weekend.
A 19-year-old UW-Madison student was hospitalized after a house fellow found him passed out in his room in Sullivan Hall early Saturday around 1:30 a.m., according to a release. His blood alcohol content was 0.32 percent.
Friday night around 11:30 p.m., an 18-year-old student was transported to detox after she vomited and passed out in Sellery Hall, according to the release. Her blood alcohol content was 0.29 percent.
Both students were issued an underage drinking citation.
These two incidents were two of six total incidents where someone was sent to detox from Friday through Sunday, officials said. A total of 19 underage drinking citations were also issued.
Officials remind students if they choose to drink alcohol, they should do so legally and responsibly.
