MADISON, Wis. -

A driver found unconscious behind the wheel later told police he used heroin before trying to drive, according to Madison police.

Police said James K. Lund, 25, of Waunakee, was found Monday afternoon slumped over the wheel of a running car that was stopped across a sidewalk at the exit of a driveway along the 500 block of University Avenue.

A college student told police he knocked on the car's windows trying to wake the driver before calling police.

Madison firefighters were called to get into the locked car. A window had to be broken to get in.

Police said Lund was given Narcan and regained consciousness.

Lund was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle while under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony bail-jumping.
