A Racine teen who told authorities he stole a car because he was tired of walking has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.
The Journal Times of Racine reported that 19-year-old Brandon D. Neal was also sentenced Friday to two years on extended supervision.
Neal pleaded no contest in April to operating a vehicle without the owner's consent.
The victim told police she left the car running in a drug store parking lot in January. She said when she returned the car was gone.
The criminal complaint said Neal was seen driving the car later that day, and that he told police he took it because "he did not want to walk" anymore.
A call to Neal's public defender Saturday rang unanswered.
