A Madison man was sentenced for his role in an armed robbery that led to shots being fired in a downtown neighborhood in September.
Ramar Brown, 18, pleaded guilty to armed robbery and bail jumping and was sentenced Friday to three years in prison and seven years of extended supervision.
Police said a 19-year-old was robbed at gunpoint in the 100 block of West Gilman Street on Sept. 18. He said the robber took his backpack, wallet and keys. One round was fired in the 100 block of Langdon Street by one of the robbers.
Police thought one of the robbers might be inside the Madison College building on North Carroll Street but later cleared the lockdown. Madison College and the University of Wisconsin sent security messages to students during the incident.
Donte D. Hunter, 17, was charged with party to the crime of armed robbery. He pleaded no contest and was sentenced in January.
