The teen accused of shooting and killing his co-worker last week in Portage was charged in Columbia County Court Wednesday.
Jordan Scott, 19, is charged with first-degree intentional homicide for the shooting death of David Johnson on Sept. 5.
Scott and Johnson worked at the Portage Subway restaurant together, according to a criminal complaint. Scott became angry with Johnson the night before the shooting and decided that either Johnson or he “had to die.”
Officials said Johnson was shot at least four times.
Prosecutors requested a $1 million bail, arguing Scott is a flight risk.
“He has every reason to run, and he already was on the run when he was arrested,” said Jane Kohlwey, Columbia County district attorney.
The criminal complaint said the teen admitted to the crime and told police he planned to travel to Ohio after the shooting and “convince a friend to kill him.”
A judge agreed to the $1 million bail among other stipulations that Scott not have any contact with co-workers at the Subway.
