A man suspected of fourth-offense operating while intoxicated tossed a marijuana pipe out of his car window as he was being pulled over, according to a release from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy pulled the car over at 2:46 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Bluff Street in Beloit because the vehicle was missing a front license plate and had a cracked windshield.
The deputy said the driver, Mohamed Abdel-Mutay, 22, of Beloit, pulled into a private parking lot and tossed an item out of the window before stopping. The item was found and determine to be a metal pipe that was being used to smoke marijuana, according to the release.
Abdel-Mutay performed field sobriety tests and was arrested on suspicion of fourth-offense OWI, possession of drug paraphernalia and on a probation violation. He was also cited for operating after revocation and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
Abdel-Mutay refused a legal blood draw. A search warrant was drafted and the legal blood draw was performed. The results are pending.
