MADISON, Wis. -

The State of Wisconsin has filed an enforcement lawsuit against a Florida company for violating the state's "No Call" and direct marketing laws, according to a release from the Attorney General's Office.

According to the release,  Florida-based Publishers Marketing Service, Inc., sells magazine subscription renewals through telephone calls.

According to the complaint, the company made numerous calls to phone numbers listed on Wisconsin's "No Call" list. The company also failed to register with the state as a telephone solicitor.

The complaint also alleges Publishers Marketing Service misled customers by telling them subscription prices were about to rise, when the company had no intention of raising rates.
