For the first time in five years, state workers and UW System employees will likely be getting a raise, but it’s only about 1 percent.
Gov. Scott Walker’s administration shared details of the proposal Tuesday to bump up pay for state workers and UW System employees in the 2014 fiscal year.
A special committee is set to vote on the plans Wednesday.
Earlier this month, the Board of Regents asked that all system employees be given those same raises.
The last system-wide raise was in 2008 and was one percent.
In addition to that 1 percent increase, each fiscal year any employee making fewer than $15 an hour will get up to a 25 cent increase.
Whether they make $14.75 or $14.99 an hour, they could all get bumped to $15.
