A Shullsburg man was thrown from his snowmobile after it struck a truck Saturday afternoon, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to Riverside Road in Gratiot Township at 1:24 p.m. for a report of a vehicle versus a snowmobile crash.

Investigators said Dale R. Mayer, 68, of Waunakee, was traveling north on the Cheese Country Trail on his snowmobile and failed to yield the right of way at Riverside Road.

Joseph H. Ubersox, 35, was traveling west on Riverside Road when he was struck by the snowmobile.
