DARIEN, Wis. -

Authorities are looking for two vehicles they believe are connected with the theft of a pizza oven.

The Walworth County Sheriff's Department said a large commercial pizza oven was stolen while it was sitting in a parking lot during a renovations on a Darien restaurant at W7404 Highway X on Thursday.

The sheriff's department said video surveillance shows at 3:51 p.m. what appeared to be a full-sized dual pickup truck leaving the property with half of the pizza oven loaded in the bed. Leaving directly behind the truck appears to be either a Ford Taurus or a Mercury Sable station wagon. The video shows both vehicles headed south on Highway X toward Interstate 43 from the business.

At 5:56 p.m., the same truck is seen in video leaving the business with the other half of the pizza oven loaded in the bed of it. Again the truck is seen leaving south on Highway X toward I-43 from the business.

On Monday between 7 and 8 p.m. a contractor working at the business returned from his dinner break and located half of the stolen pizza oven in the parking lot of the business.

The business owner told the sheriff's office that due to the size and weight of the pizza oven, there had to be several people involved in moving it.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact Detective Robert Sharp of the Walworth County Sheriff's Office at 262-741-4424.

If you wish to remain anonymous you can call Walworth County Crime Stoppers at 262-723-2677 or submit a tip by going to the TipSoft website at www.tipsoft.com.
