A man convicted of killing his mother in 2010, hiding her body and using her checks and credit cards was sentenced to life in prison.
A Circuit Court judge ruled Friday afternoon that 61-year-old Larry Clark won't be eligible for parole for 30 years. Clark shot his mother, Marcella Clark, is the back in July 2010 and then took her body to some woods near their house in Big Flats.
A criminal complaint said that after the death of his 79-year-old mother, Clark used her checking account and credit card.
Clark testified during his trial that he accidentally shot his 79-year-old mother at their house, passed out and woke to find her body. He told investigators he didn't report the death because he was more worried about training her puppy to survive if he went to jail.
