MADISON, Wis. -

Along with spring weather comes the beginning of construction season, and Madison’s roads are no exception.

Mineral Point and Junction Roads are set to see reconstruction that features improvements to 2 miles of roadways and bicycle paths, according to a city of Madison statement. The reconstruction also includes a bridge for southbound Junction Road over Mineral Point Road.

The $23 million project, jointly funded by the city of Madison and Dane County, will begin in May and wrap up in the fall of 2014.

Other construction coming to the area includes upgrades to County Road M from Mineral Point Road to Cross Country Road. That project will feature a divided urban arterial roadway and bike lanes for both sides, according to the statement. Construction on the road is projected to last through 2016.
