OREGON- Richard James "Rick" Schepp, age 36, of Oregon, passed away after many years of struggling with addiction on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at his home.
He was born on April 26, 1977, in Madison, the son of Randy and Deb Schepp. Rick loved to fix things and was a very talented repairman. He loved going up north to Northern Wisconsin snowmobiling and fishing. Rick's friendly personality and warm heart always left an everlasting mark on the people he met. He was a member of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church in Oregon.
Rick is survived by his parents, Randy and Deb Schepp; a sister, Rebecca (Darrick) Knutson; brother, Randy (Alisa) Schepp Jr.; sister, Amy Schindler; niece, Katie Schindler; nephew, Jon Schindler; paternal grandmother, Matilda Schepp; special friend, Daracee Danks; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Rick was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Chet and Molly Morrison; paternal grandfather, Charles Schepp; and cousins, Emily Schepp and Pamela Schepp Gould.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the service on Saturday.
