MADISON, Wis. -

Police said a food delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning.

The Madison Police Department said a restaurant worker was taking a delivery to a home at 12:42 a.m. on the 700 block of Pinecrest Drive when he was confronted by an armed man.

The man displayed a black handgun and demanded food and money, according to the report.

Police said the delivery driver didn't have any cash on him because most customers prepaid for their food deliveries with credit cards, but he did hand over the food.

The suspect fled on foot, the report said. The victim wasn't injured.

Police described the robber as black, 6 feet tall, in his early 20s and thin. The man was wearing a dark coat with white stripes on the sleeves, a red bandana on his head and black-rimmed eye glasses, according to the report.

Police asked anyone with information on the robbery to contact the Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.
