On 140 acres of land on the west side of Stoughton, a proposed development is progressing in the approval process.
At the Stoughton Common Council meeting Tuesday night, development agreement discussions were heard. Those discussions resulted in the city attorney and staff being directed to prepare a draft development agreement.
The Kettle Park West Development, which is located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Highway 51 and Highway 138, will include retail space, single- and multi-family residential units and office buildings.
The developer has announced an agreement has been reached with Walmart to be an anchor of the retail development.
The land where the Kettle Park West Development is planned was annexed by the city of Stoughton in June 2013. In November, the city approved rezoning approximately 35 acres to allow for the commercial portion of the project.
