JANESVILLE, Wis. -

Police said a Janesville man was charged with his eighth-offense OWI after an officer smelled pot coming from him.

The Janesville Police Department said it received a complaint about a vehicle driving recklessly on the city's south side Friday at 5:35 p.m. Officers spotted the vehicle on the 2100 block of South Walnut Street getting stuck in a snow bank after making a U-turn.

Officers smelled a burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, according to the report. The driver, Leon Guenther, 52, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested on suspicion of an eighth-offense operating while intoxicated.

Guenther was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to Rock County Jail.
