Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne is mulling a run for attorney general.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Friday that Ozanne is seriously considering a run but hasn't set a timeline for a decision. Ozanne didn't immediately return a message from The Associated Press.
Former Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle appointed Ozanne district attorney in 2010. He made headlines in 2011 after he unsuccessfully sued to stop Gov. Scott Walker's collective bargaining restrictions.
State Rep. Jon Richards, a Milwaukee Democrat, declared his candidacy earlier this week. So did Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel, a Republican.
Rep. Chris Taylor, a Madison Democrat, and Matt Frank, who served in Doyle's cabinet, also are considering running.
Incumbent Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced earlier this month he won't seek re-election.
