(CNN) -

Mitt Romney will gather with supporters on election night in Boston, his campaign said Tuesday.

The Republican presidential nominee's election night event will take place at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, according to the campaign.

The 2.1 million square foot facility has several halls and ballrooms and is billed as the largest convention center in New England.

Romney was formerly governor of Massachusetts and lives in Belmont, Mass.

Earlier this month, Obama's campaign said his election night events would be held in Chicago's McCormick Place.
