THE STATE ASSEMBLY.
FORGING AHEAD ON THE GOVERNOR'S TAX CUT PLAN...
CONTINUING COVERAGE FROM THE CAPITOL TONIGHT...
WITH POLITICAL REPORTER JESSICA ARP.
THE ASSEMBLY APPROVING THE MEASURE TONIGHT.
TOO IMPORTANT NOT TO MOVE EXPEDITIOUSLY
THAT HOUSE HEARD FIRST MOTIONS BY DEMOCRATS TO SEND
THE BILL TO THE FINANCE COMMITTEE...
OR AMEND IT TO APPLY MORE MONEY TO THE STRUCTURAL
DEFICIT, WORKER TRAINING AND A SEPARATE PROPERTY TAX
THE SENATE MAJORITY LEADER SAYS HE'S STILL BAFFLED
BY THE VOTE...
ESPECIALLY AFTER HE SAYS THE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE
AND FISCAL BUREAU ARE AT ODDS OVER WHETHER THE PLAN
AS-IS HAS SET ENOUGH ASIDE TO CHANGE TAX WITHHOLDING
in most states each chamber passes their own plan,
they have a conference committee, and make agreements
and go back an enact it again :37 so the idea that
we have to always start with these closed door meeting
where we reach agreements and then we go out and present
it thats maybe an ideal situation but it necessarily
isnt giong to be the way we operate on everything
what he's going to tell you, probably already did
is take out that rubber stamp and just stamp what
the gov tells you to do :19 maybe hes given you that
speech, but be aware, be clear, that your colleagues,
the republicans in the senate are not willing to pull
out that rubber stamp

THE ASSEMBLY APPROVED THE TAX CUT ON A 62 TO 37 VOTE.
WITH TWO DEMOCRATS VOTING FOR THE MEASURE.
FITZGERALD SAID THE SENATE WILL SIMPLY SEND THE VOTE
TO THE FINANCE COMMITTEE...
AND THAT HE'S IN NO HURRY TO PASS THE PLAN BEFORE
HE ADDRESSES THE STRUCTURAL DEFICIT ISSUE WITH HIS
VOS SAYS HE'S WILLING TO TALK ABOUT IT.
BUT WON'T CHANGE THE PROPERTY OR INCOME TAX AMOUNTS
IN THE PLAN RIGHT NOW.
