-- ERIC --
POLITICAL REPORTER JESSICA ARP HAS THE LATEST.
THE FIRST PUBLIC HEARING ON THE
BILL IN ONLY ONE HOUSE OF LEGISLATURE.
INSTEAD OF A JOINT COMMITTEE.
PROVING THERE IS A WAYS TO GO FOR REPUBLICAN LEADERS.
we are proposing to continue our
progress in reducing income tax rates
REVENUE SECRETARY RICK CHANDLER WALKED THE ASSEMBLY JOBS,
ECONOMY AND MINING COMMITTEE THROUGH THE INS AND
OUTS OF GOVERNOR SCOTT WALKER'S TAX CUT PLAN...
the two important goals in this bill is to
work at that goal of getting our tax burden
down and make some enhancements to teh state stabilization fund :56
BUT THIS ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE.
ISN'T WHERE SOME EXPECTED TO SEE THE BILL.
it would go to finance and it should, no its not appropriate and i'm not sure why the speaker is moving
in that direction :14 so the end result will be if they pass something on the floor next week and message
it to the senate we will send it to the finance committee :21 wehre it should be in the first place
SENATE MAJORITY LEADER SCOTT FITZGERALD SAYS HE DOESN'T HAVE
THE VOTES IN HIS HOUSE FOR THE PLAN AS IS...
SOME MEMBERS OF THE SENATE WANT TO PAY
DOWN A PROJECTED 800 MILLION DOLLAR STRUCTURAL DEFICIT...
AND CHANGE THE TAX CUTS AMOUNTS.
if the speaker is trying to pressure the republican caucus in the senate i dont
think we're feelign the pressure :16 we're trying to work through this ilke we do
on everybill we have until we have at least 17 votes to hit the floor
FOR HIS PART.
THE GOVERNOR SAYS HE'S WILLING TO MAKE SOME CHANGES.
If they're tweaks that's fundamentally that continue to get
money in the hands of hard working tax payers
we'll certainly look at different ways of doing that
ASSEMBLY SPEAKER ROBIN VOS RESPONDED
TO CRITICISM WITH A STATEMENT TONIGHT
WE WANT TO PASS THE GOVERNOR'S PLAN AS SOON AS
POSSIBLE SO AS TO RETURN THESE DOLLARS TO THE TAXPAYERS...
