MARSHALL, Wis. -

A student in Marshall was approached by a stranger who offered the student a ride Monday afternoon, according to the Marshall Police Department.

Police said the student was walking home from school in the Hemlock Lane area of the Evergreen Mobile Home Park at 3:35 p.m. when a suspicious man approached in his car.

The student told police the man asked questions about how far away they lived and offered to give the student a ride. The student ran away from the man and contacted parents.

The man's car is described as an older maroon-colored four-door with a dent in the driver’s side rear door, with scratches in the paint and rust in some areas. It was last seen heading from Hemlock Lane toward Juniper Lane.

The man is described as white, 30-40 years old, with a full, short brown beard and mustache. The man’s hair was just below the baseball cap, which had a small blue logo on the front. He was wearing a white T-shirt.
