Man sought in shooting over stolen game
23-year-old suffers non-life-threatening gunshot wound
Police are looking for the man who allegedly shot another man over a stolen video game. The man who was shot suffered non-life-threatening injuries, officers said.
Antonio D. Washington, 20, is the Town of Madison's suspect in the shooting, according to the department Friday afternoon.
Town of Madison police said the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mistwood apartment complex in the Town of Madison, near the intersection of Pheasant Ridge Trail and Deer Valley Road.
According to the report, Washington and a 23-year-old man were arguing in the street over a stolen video game, when the suspect fired a gun, injuring the victim.
"I think the one group had stolen the video game from the other group [or] family," Town of Madison police officer Sgt. Burt Boldebuck said.
The 23-year-old was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening head wound, according to police.
Police were called to the same neighborhood earlier in the night because of a fight, but when officer got there, the people involved ran.
Officials said the dispute over the video game started several weeks ago and it's not known whether the 23-year-old who was shot is the one who is suspected of stealing the game.
Police said Washington is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.
Washington should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Town of Madison police at 210-7262 or Dane County Communications Center at 255-2345.
