MADISON, Wis. -

A would-be robber decided to back off on the robbery of a convenience store early Monday morning when he saw there was little money in the till, according to Madison police.

Officers said the clerk at Kelley Williamson Mobil at 33 Junction Ct. offered the gunman money, but it wasn’t much. The robber told the clerk not to worry about it and left empty handed.

The attempted robber is described as black, 6 feet tall and wearing a black jacket, gray pants, black sneakers, a black beanie hat and a dark scarf or bandana tied around his face.
