Police: Officer nominated for life-saving award
Woman revived after she was found not breathing
A Madison Police officer will be nominated for a life-saving award after he revived a woman Saturday afternoon, officials say.
The woman was turning purple, had no pulse and was not breathing, according to a release.
Officials say the officer performed CCR on a 49-year-old woman who was found on the men’s bathroom floor of the PDQ on Raymond Road.
The officer performed chest compressions for approximately 4 minutes before Madison fire paramedics arrived and administered a narcotic used to counteract the effects of drug overdose.
The woman was revived and transported to a hospital, according to the release.
Officials say the woman later thanked the officers for his resuscitation efforts.
