JANESVILLE, Wis. -

Janesville police are hoping the public can help identify two people who stole a puppy from a pet store Saturday night.

Police said the theft happened around 5 p.m. at Petland at 2021 Humes Road.

The couple went into the store and asked to meet a pug puppy. A short time later, the man is seen on surveillance cameras putting the puppy under his shirt and leaving the store, police said.

The dog is an 11-week-old black pug.

The man was last seen wearing a white shirt, black pants, a necklace and a Chicago Bulls hat. The woman has dark hair and was wearing a light-colored shirt and dark-colored pants.

Police ask anyone with information on the incident or can identify the two people to call 608-757-2244.
