Police: Grandma calls 911 for a beer
Tennessee woman accused of asking for 'police assistance in getting a beer'
A 68-year-old grandmother in Tennessee was arrested after authorities said she called 911 for "police assistance in getting a beer."
Rosie Pate told Memphis TV station WREG the allegations just aren't true.
"I have lived to be 68 years old and I never dialed no police to bring me beer," she said.
According to the criminal complaint obtained by The Smoking Gun, Pate got into an argument with her granddaughter and slapped her because she wouldn't get Pate a beer.
That's when Pate called 911.
She claims she told police about the argument, but didn't ask them for alcohol.
Authorities beg to differ.
Pate has been charged with domestic assault and making a non-emergency 911 call.
