Police find 7.7 grams of marijuana, arrest Sun Prairie man

MADISON, Wis. -

A Sun Prairie man was arrested after police found 7.7 grams of marijuana in his vehicle Tuesday night on Madison’s north side, according to a release.

Police responded to the area of Sheridan Drive around 10:21 p.m. for reports of people in dark clothing wearing backpacks and going through vehicles, officials said. Police found a running vehicle in the area of North Sherman Avenue and Logan Street, and made contact with the occupants.

According to the release, police smelled a strong odor of marijuana that the driver, Joshua, M. Knight, 24, claimed he didn’t know anything about and that he was waiting on a friend.

Police said while searching the vehicle they found 7.7 grams of marijuana, cash, drug paraphernalia and packaging materials.

Knight told police he had forgotten about the drugs in the vehicle. He was arrested on charges of manufacturing and delivering THC.
