PHOTOS: Thanksgiving meals on the house at east Madison eatery
An east Madison eatery that was the focus of a brief neighborhood controversy this year gave back to the community Thursday with a Thanksgiving dinner on the house.
That BBQ Joint at 901 Williamson St. doled out turkey plates from noon to 3 p.m. Clement Henriques said the meal was a thank-you to the neighborhood for its outpouring of support after a squabble with the city over smell and noise complaints in October.
The meals included turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and cranberry sauce.
"Have a Thanksgiving dinner on us!" a note posted at the restaurant Thursday said. "We are grateful to each and every one of you!"
