Person believed to have made Beaver Dam bomb threats in custody
3 bomb threats made at 3 businesses Tuesday, police say
Beaver Dam police said they believe the person responsible for making three separate bomb threats in the city of Beaver Dam this week is in custody.
Police responded to three bomb threats Tuesday at Kwik Trip and McDonald’s on North Spring Street and Walmart on Frances Lane, according to a release. The threats were made in the afternoon and early evening hours.
Officials said the bomb threats were made in a similar fashion to bomb threats in surrounding communities over the past several days.
In each case, no bomb was found at the location, according to the release. All threats in Beaver Dam were made to the respective business.
Beaver Dam police said they are working closely with other local and state agencies, and believe the individual responsible for making the bomb threats has been identified and is in custody.
Police have received additional information that the same person may have been involved in other crimes related to being a registered sex offender working with children, according to the release. The allegations are similar to reported conduct in surrounding communities that are also still under investigation.
Beaver Dam police said they do not believe there is a danger to the community as a result of Tuesday’s threats. All information they have received related to the bomb threats from Tuesday has been forwarded on to the Dodge County District Attorney for review and possible criminal charges.
