DON’T MISS GOING OFF

07/11/13

It’s Art Fairs weekend in Madison, one of the best weekends of the year on the Capitol Square. Thousands of visitors will take in the work of more than 450 artists and enjoy the music stages and food and beverage tents. It’s good stuff and the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art does a great job.

But as always, we think it’s important to make sure you don’t overlook the Art Fair OFF the Square for which we have a special fondness. Located on Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd, and the Monona Terrace Esplanade, the Fair OFF the Square features 140 exhibitors offering ceramics, art glass, painting, fiber, sculpture, jewelry, photography, wood and more…and every single artist is from Wisconsin. It’s Art Fair meets Buy Local and a must visit for those wanting to support local artists. And that’s so important.

Visit the Wisconsin Alliance of Artists and Craftspeople site if you want a preview. But most important, don’t forget to walk down MLK Blvd. this weekend as you enjoy the Fairs.
