The Madison Metropolitan School Districts request for voter approval of a permanent increase in its ability to exceed state revenue limits is hugely important referendum question on the November ballot.

We urge all citizens to learn as much as they can about the district's request and one way to do that is to attend an information session on Tuesday evening.

The session is being hosted by the Madison School Board to both provide details about the referendum and ways supporters can assist with the school board's efforts. The ask is for twenty-six Million dollars phased in over four years to make up for years of cuts in state support for schools.

We will give you our opinion a little closer to the election after we meet with folks and consider arguments for and against. In other words doing what we're asking you to do. Thanks to the Foundation for Madison Public Schools for getting the word out about Tuesday's session at the Urban League on South Park Street.
