1977: Alpine ski-racer Bode Miller, an Olympic and World Championship gold medalist and a two-time overall World Cup champion in 2005 and 2008, is born in Easton, New Hampshire. He has won a total of six Olympic medals in his career, including gold in super combined at the 2010 Vancouver Games.
