1934: Filmmaker and actor Garry Marshall, known for creating/producing the TV sitcoms "The Odd Couple," "Happy Days," "Laverne and Shirley," and "Mork & Mindy," and for directing such movies as "Pretty Woman," "Runaway Bride" and "Beaches," is born in The Bronx, New York. He died on July 19, 2016, at the age of 81 due to complications of pneumonia after suffering a stroke.
