MADISON, Wis. -

A Madison police officer was punched in the chest by a 17-year-old who was being escorted out of East High School Monday afternoon, officials said.

Police said the teen had been in a fight with other students.

The teen struck the trauma plate of the officer’s bulletproof vest and the officer was not injured, police said.

The teen was arrested on suspicion of battery to a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
