MADISON, Wis. -

Department of Public Health officials are looking for information about a dog that bit a boy Thursday on Madison’s far west side, according to a release.

The incident happened around 7:10 a.m. on Dayflower Drive while the dog was being walked past the boy on a leash, officials said.

The dog is described as a medium-sized, short haired dog and was brown and black in color, according to the release. The dog was being walked by a white man wearing a black jacket and hat who apologized to the boy, and turned onto Jasmine Drive.

Officials ask anyone with information on the incident to call police and fire dispatch at 608-255-2345 and ask for the animal services officer.
