MADISON, Wis. -

More than six years after University of Wisconsin-Whitewater student Kelly Nolan disappeared after a night in Madison, her death certificated has been amended.

Nolan’s body was found in the town of Dunn, and police would only say she was murdered.

Police have previously not released other details on the cause of her death, but Wednesday her death certificate was amended. The cause of death was changed from pending to blunt force trauma of the torso with fractures.

Officials say the change to her death certificate has no impact on the investigation.

“By getting some publicity again about Kelly Nolan is that maybe there’s someone out there and now that the years have passed, they have some information and for whatever reason maybe they call Crimestoppers now,” Madison police information officer Joel DeSpain said. “I think that would be the greatest thing from this being filed.”

DeSpain said two detectives remain on the case chasing leads, including one that took them out of state last year.
