There may be no Miss Kenosha Scholarship Pageant next year because the program no longer has a director.

Former pageant director Joya Santarelli told the Kenosha News that Sarah Roberts, who became the pageant's director last year, left the post in June. Santarelli said no one else has stepped forward to take over or expressed interest in the position.

The job requires running rehearsals, selling tickets, securing judges and guests, designing the program booklets and getting donations and sponsors. The contest could take place any time up until April.

Santarelli said there's no possibility she'd lead the organization again. She said it's a shame the pageant is in limbo because there are many talented young women in the area.
