Police said a Madison teen is in custody in connection with a north side shooting that injured two men.
The Madison Police Department said Algernon Caldwell Jr., 18, turned himself in to police Tuesday morning. He was charged with first-degree reckless endangering safety and carrying a concealed weapon stemming from a shooting Friday night.
Police had said at about 11:35 p.m., a shooting involving a shotgun occurred in the 1700 block of Northport Drive. Police believe there was a fight in an apartment complex prior to the shooting.
Police said two adults were unintended targets and sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result and have since been treated and released from an area hospital.
Police said they have probable cause to arrest Algernon Caldwell on suspicion of first-degree recklessly endangering safety and carrying a concealed weapon. Caldwell is at large and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police.
According to police, officers do not believe that the Northport Drive shooting and a shooting on Theresa Terrace are related.
