When I last posted on this blog, I was involved in a back-and-forth conversation with Mrs. Supini Thrunkul who told me my long-lost distant relative, Dr. Dietrich Schrager, had died seven years ago with a lot of money in the bank. That money could be mine if I would do as Mrs. Thrunkul requested.

For the record, our IT people didn't like this idea and I can't say I blame them. That said, from the beginning, I resolved I would not lie and I would not open any links or documents that she sent me, which is what I encourage all of you not to do. That latter requirement caused a bit of a problem this weekend when it looked like she would cut off communications with me because I would not open either a pdf or a Word file with "her ID."

I just told her I didn't know much about computers which is true.

However, she continues to engage, so I will as well.

Here's our latest exchanges.  I'll flip them with the oldest showing up first.

By the way, don't try this at home.

When we last left this conversation, I had asked her why it needed to be kept secret and if I could tell my children.

Dear Adam,

Thanks for your mail.

I have re-attached my ID in a different file.

This transaction needs to be kept secret so that we will not have any hindrance to the success. When too many ears get to hear about business,we the Asians believe there will be tendency for it to fail. So please there is no need to talk about it until the money enters your account. After the money has entered your account successfully and after you have given me my share from the money, you are at that point free to open the transaction to your children.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Supini Thrunkul

I'm sorry but I still can't open it

on my computer. If you need me to see what's on there, I'll  need you to just paste it into an email.

My children really don't like me to do things without them  knowing about it.

Are you sure this is safe?
