I'm feeling generous this Monday morning and I want to give some advice to those who would seek to scam me while they're in the process of spamming me. If you're going to cite an actual plane crash that killed a number of people and you're going to claim that your "husband" was a victim in that crash, make sure you pick the name of someone who actually died in that crash.
Sounds simple enough, I know. However, in practice, apparently the details fall by the wayside.
In the note below, we allegedly have a woman dying from breast cancer who never had children who wants to give away millions from her late husband who died in a plane crash and who contacted me after viewing my profile and concluding I was a God-fearing person who could help.
We've written before in this space about how sometimes just taking a couple minutes to do an internet search on a phrase, a name or a fact can prove conclusively that the note before you is not legitimate. In this case, one search of the name, "Chizzy Favour," reveals this exact same email that others have posted on various spam/scam warning websites.
I decided to go one step further, to see if, in fact, Chizzy Favour (I love typing that name by the way. It's just cool), had died in the Kenya Airways plane crash of 2000 that is referenced in the note. To the writer's credit, they did not invent the crash, but according to Wikipedia, there was no one who died that was from either Switzerland or South Africa in the crash, which were the two countries referenced in the email.
Am I doubtful of Mrs. Evon Deborah Yett's claims?
Yes, I am.
Just hit delete.
Hope you had a nice weekend.
