National Envelope said it won't have to lay off any workers at its Appleton plant after securing financing to continue operating in bankruptcy.
A company spokeswoman told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in an email Friday that National Envelope has no plans to close facilities or conduct layoffs.
National Envelope, based in Frisco, Texas, had filed a layoff notice with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development earlier this month that it would be cutting 153 jobs in Appleton as a result of the bankruptcy filing.
The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Monday.
At that time, National Envelope said if it could not secure additional financing or find a buyer by Aug. 6, it would have been forced to discontinue operations in Appleton and 10 other sites in the U.S.
