MADISON, Wis. -

Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak will join Madison Mayor Paul Soglin to invite Wisconsin LGBT couples to get married in Minnesota.

According to a release from Rybak's office, the invitation is a part of a campaign advocating for same-sex marriage in Wisconsin.

Rybak has been an outspoken advocate for same-sex marriage, performing 46 weddings in Minneapolis, including the wedding of Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau.

The event starts at 2 p.m. on Monday in front of the City-County building at 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
